Justin Fields suffered a dislocated toe during the team’s second training camp practice of 2025. Rich Cimini reports that Fields’ injury is not viewed as serious and there is optimism he will be healthy for the regular season opener.

I couldn’t blame any Jets fan who immediately feared the worst this morning

when news first broke that Fields had been carted off the field with a lower body injury. It would seem like typical Jets luck to lose your quarterback to a devastating injury for the second time in three years.

It’s certainly not good news that Fields is injured and will likely miss a chunk of training camp. He’s on a new team trying to get comfortable in a new system with new teammates. He also relies on his mobility as much as any quarterback in the league so there are going to be some concerns about the potential for this injury to linger.

Still, you have to breathe a big sigh of relief. I think almost anybody would have signed up for optimism regarding Fields’ ability to play Week 1 at the point he was being carted off the field.
