Fincantieri's subsidiary, WASS Submarine Systems, has been awarded a contract worth over €237 million by the Saudi Ministry of Defense to supply MU90 lightweight torpedoes to the Royal Saudi Naval Force.
This contract, the largest in WASS's history, includes the delivery of torpedoes and logistics support services, with deliveries scheduled between 2029 and 2030. The MU90 torpedo is designed for anti-submarine warfare and is already in service with several navies worldwide. This agreement marks WASS's first direct contract with the Saudi Ministry of Defense and is part of Fincantieri's broader expansion strategy in Saudi Arabia.
