Marie Bracquemond, a lesser-known French Impressionist artist, is being celebrated at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. Her painting, 'La pêche aux écrevisses,' estimated to be created between 1870 and 1880, is now on display. Bracquemond was one of only three women who exhibited in the original Impressionist exhibitions, alongside Mary Cassatt and Berthe Morisot. Despite her talent, her career was overshadowed by her husband Félix Bracquemond's disapproval of her shift to Impressionism. The gallery acquired the painting with the help of the Rick Mather David Scrase Foundation.
