What's Happening?
The Robert Allan Memorial Scholarship Trust, in collaboration with Robert Allan Ltd., has announced the recipients of its scholarships for the 2025/2026 academic year. Five students have been selected from a competitive pool of candidates. The scholarship aims to support students pursuing careers in naval architecture or marine engineering. The recipients include Alex Badzio-George, a third-year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Victoria; Jade Cooper, in her final year of the Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering Program at Memorial University of Newfoundland; Em Eileen Gillis, enrolled in the same program and representing the Class of 2027; Max David Kelly, pursuing a Master of Engineering in Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering at Memorial University; and Maggie McGann, starting Term 6 in the Ocean and Naval Architectural Engineering Program at Memorial University. The scholarship was established in 1982 by a bequest from Robert F. Allan, a noted Vancouver Naval Architect, and is administered by senior Principals at Robert Allan Ltd.
