Disney has announced plans to fully integrate Hulu into its Disney+ streaming service, creating a unified app experience. This development was revealed by Disney CEO Bob Iger and CFO Hugh Johnston during the company's third-quarter earnings report. The integration aims to offer a comprehensive entertainment package that includes high-caliber brands, general entertainment, family programming, news, and live sports content. The move is expected to increase viewer engagement, reduce cancellations, and enhance advertising revenue. Disney has been streaming select Hulu series on Disney+ for users subscribed to both platforms since 2023. The company also plans to phase out the standalone Hulu app by next year, although standalone subscriptions for each service will remain available.

As Disney continues to enhance its streaming offerings, further technological improvements and new features are expected to be introduced within the Disney+ app. The integration of Hulu's live TV business with Fubo under a proposed joint venture is also on the horizon, with plans to eventually integrate Hulu + Live TV into Disney+ by 2026.
