SAAM, in partnership with Chile's national oil company Enap, has launched Trapananda, the first fully electric tugboat in Latin America. Powered by a Corvus Energy lithium-ion battery system, the tugboat operates in Puerto Chacabuco, Chile. The vessel offers zero-emission and near-silent operations, contributing to reduced environmental and noise impacts. Trapananda is part of SAAM's 2030 Sustainability Strategy, aiming for a 65% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions across its fleet.
