What's Happening?
Pianists Lisa Nakamichi and Angela Cheng appeared on Morning Café to discuss the Keʻalohi Piano Competition, set to begin on August 17 at the Orvis Auditorium. The competition will feature 13 competitors from various countries, including Japan, China, Korea, Russia, and the USA. The event consists of three rounds: Quarter Finals on August 17-18, Semi Finals on August 21, and Finals on August 24 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall with the Hawaii Symphony Orchestra. Admission is free for all rounds except the final concert. Judges include Angela Cheng, Akira Eguchi, Robert Koenig, and Alan Chao.
