American Airlines has announced a significant expansion of its long-haul routes for the summer of 2026, introducing six new European routes. The only truly new route will connect Dallas-Fort Worth with Athens, Greece, starting May 21, 2026, using a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. This expansion will make American Airlines the U.S. airline with the most gateways to Athens. Additionally, five previously operated routes will resume, including flights from Dallas-Fort Worth to Buenos Aires and Zurich, Miami to Milan, and Philadelphia to Budapest and Prague. The airline is also increasing premium seating on its Tokyo routes by deploying larger aircraft.
