Zong 4G Implements ZTE’s 8T8R UBR and DIA to Optimize Tower Space

China Mobile Pakistan, operating as Zong 4G, has become the first operator to deploy ZTE's 8T8R ultra-broadband radio (UBR) and digital intelligent antenna (DIA) solution. This technology offers high-power output for 1800-MHz and 2100-MHz bands, reducing the number of required RRUs by up to 67%. The deployment enhances network capacity and user experience, with a 34% increase in daily use and 83% during peak hours. ZTE and Zong are exploring cost-efficient strategies for new site deployments.
