It was another ugly loss for the Guardians. The bullpen fell apart in the 8th and the 9th, and the offense looked a lot like the offense we’ve seen all season. An already horrific offense is now missing their second best hitter in Steven Kwan, and it sure looked like it tonight.
I know they have an easy schedule coming up, but it is beyond clear that this team is not a World Series contender. They should not continue to sacrifice the future for a season where they have zero chance at competing. I love
Carlos Santana, but he cannot be on this team anymore, same goes for Lane Thomas. If this team wants any chance at competing next season, then CJ Kayfus and Chase DeLauter need to go through their ups and downs and get their feet wet NOW. (Or whenever DeLauter gets healthy).
The Guardians will try and take 2 of 3 tomorrow. It will be Gavin Williams vs Jeffrey Springs at 1:40 PM ET.
