This is the second straight practice where a Broncos linebacker had to leave early due to an injury. Thankfully for the team, this is only a “minor” injury, and he will be back on the practice field in a week with a club for a hand.
Now with Singleton and Sanders sidelined, the Broncos' linebacker depth has taken a bit of a hit. They are likely going to give veteran LB Dre Greenlaw some days off coming up, so special teams ace Justin Strnad and second-year linebacker Levelle Bailey figure to see a lot of reps over this next week or so. Look for UDFA’s Karene Reid, JB Brown, and Jordan Turner to receive more reps as well.
Heading into camp, the Broncos' linebacker depth was a question mark. Greenlaw and Singleton are both coming off major injuries, Justin Strnad is a special teamer, Drew Sanders is an unknown, and the rest are former or current UDFA’s looking to make the team. So, being down two this early into camp is going to test their depth, and we will see how the young guys do with this opportunity.
Thankfully for Singleton, this is only a minor (but painful) injury, and he will be back on the practice field before their preseason opener next week.
