Seth Rollins seen walking with crutches during outing with daughter

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Becky Lynch shared a brief but tender video of her husband, Seth Rollins, with their 4-year-old daughter.

In the video, posted on Lynch’s Instagram, Rollins is seen walking on crutches while their daughter, Roux, runs alongside him. For many, this was simply a sweet father-daughter moment. But for wrestling fans trying to figure out whether Rollins’ recent knee injury is legitimate or part of an orchestrated storyline, the video has taken on a deeper meaning.

Last week, Rollins seemingly injured his knee during a match against LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event. After consulting a ringside doctor, the referee, and his manager, Paul Heyman, Rollins got up and finished the bout. However, he was quickly pinned by Knight immediately following a BFT.

The moment seemed to indicate this was a spur-of-the-moment decision to end the match on a high note.

While hosting The Rich Eisen Show last week, Rollins said his knee was too swollen for a proper diagnosis. He plans to undergo further imaging in the coming weeks. Based on how he feels, Rollins said the outlook doesn’t appear promising.

“I am not a doctor,” Rollins said. “I only know my body and what I feel, and what I feel is this is gonna be me out for an extended period of time.”

In the meantime, several outlets have reported conflicting information. Some say Rollins’ injury is legitimate but not as serious as believed, and speculate it could be part of a storyline leading to a surprise Money in the Bank cash-in, possibly during the CM Punk-Gunther World Title match at SummerSlam.

Lynch’s video is likely to fuel further speculation. Given that wrestlers have sold injuries in public before as a way to maintain kayfabe, it’s possible Rollins is working some old-school storytelling.

Then again, Rollins may have simply been doing dad things, and Lynch decided it would be nice to share with the public. Only time will tell whether it’s one or the other — or both.
