The Yankees gave us something to be excited about yesterday afternoon, even if the move they made wasn’t the most exciting move possible. Just adding an upgrade at third base in Ryan McMahon was enough to provide something to be hopeful about as the Yankees returned home from a rough series in Toronto. Of course, it was business as usual the second the Yankees took the field; they mashed a bunch of homers, shot themselves in the foot on defense, and imploded late in yet another frustrating loss.
Maybe today’s the day things start to turn around, with Marcus Stroman taking the ball in a matinee.
On the site, we’ll have even more analysis of the McMahon move, with the third baseman likely to make his debut later today. Also, Matt runs down Friday night’s AL action, while Sam looks back at another Doc Gooden win in our 2000 Yankees diary. Our trade target series rolls along as well, with Nick Power’s analysis of the uber-talented Oneil Cruz.
