Last night I genuinely woke up from a dream where I had tuned in to a college football game. It was mid-August, and the Western Oregon Wolves—though they were the Owls in my dream—had opened up a 21-7 first-half lead on Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks.
After processing the upset-in-the-making, my next subconscious thought was “Oh no, I need to update my OTE article.”
This stupid job has turned my brain to mush. Back to B1G Media Days soon.
We’ve gotten some additional game times, TV networks, and even one
whole-ass additional game added to Week 0 since I did my most recent “this isn’t just cynical SEO baiting, how dare you” article in April. (Shockingly, though, SEO bullshit no longer works, stay tuned for some really fun updates from SBNation.)
Here are those FBS games again (all times CT, of course):
Kansas State Wildcats at Iowa State Cyclones
11am | ESPN | Aer Lingus College Football Classic
at Aviva Stadium (Dublin, IE)
Fresno State Bulldogs at Kansas Jayhawks
5:30pm | FOX
Sam Houston State Bearkats at Western Kentucky Hilltoppers
6pm | CBSSN
Stanford Cardinal at Hawai’i Rainbow Warriors
6:30pm | CBS
Idaho State Bengals at UNLV Rebels
Time, TV TBD
Because of some massive boxing card happening in Vegas the weekend of September 13, these teams successfully applied for a waiver to move their game to Week 0. It shouldn’t be particularly close, mind you—even in Year One of Dan Mullen, the Rebels should dispatch a Bengals team that hasn’t had a winning season since 2018. Former Colorado QB and coach’s kid Cody Hawkins is in his third year piloting the ship in Pocatello.
Here’s hoping this one follows Sam Houston-Western Kentucky on CBSSN.
