Earlier this month, Bayern Munich was eliminated by Paris Saint-Germain in the first edition of the expanded 32-team FIFA Club World Cup. Bayern Munich held the upper hand for most of the first half and looked to carry the momentum into the halftime whistle.

Disaster struck as Jamal Musiala chased down a ball in the box. Musiala’s foot got trapped underneath a sliding Gianluigi Donnarumma. The challenge left Musiala with a broken and dislocated ankle, plus a fractured fibula. Musiala was flown back

to Germany for a successful surgery but is expected to miss the entire Hinrunde.

In an interesting twist, the contracts of both Donnarumma and Manuel Neuer expire next summer. In 2021, Donnarumma joined PSG on a free transfer from AC Milan. Contract negotiations have stalled with PSG and the 26-year Italian goalkeeper could be searching for a new home.

If Bayern was able to swoop in and acquire Donnarumma on a free transfer with a salary in the range of €15M, would you be able to forgive Donnarumma for his challenge on Musiala?
