Real Madrid defender Fran Garcia is set to stay at Real Madrid next season, according to a recent report from AS.
Garcia was among those who could have been looking for moves under Carlo Ancelotti, where playing time was limited and there was interest from other clubs.
The Spaniard performed admirably well in the Club World Cup under Xabi Alonso, and the Spanish coach now considers him a very important part of his squad.
The club have rejected several offers for Garcia in the last few days, insisting
that he is not for sale as he is being counted on for Alonso’s project.
The full-back Real Madrid actually would like to move on from is Ferland Mendy, as they see their two ideal left-backs in Garcia and Alvaro Carreras.
It remains to be seen what happens with Mendy, who has already agreed to a contract extension till 2028, according to the same report.
