The All-Star break has come and gone, and the Yankees are hitting the ground running in the second half. A series win against the Braves has them on the right side of the win column to start, but they’re facing a major set of games heading into the deadline: a crucial series against the Blue Jays to potentially shift the balance of the AL East back in their favor, followed by a matchup with the NL East-leading Phillies and another divisional foe in the Rays.
All eyes are now on Brian Cashman’s office
and what trades he will cook up over the next week or so. They need reinforcements of some kind, and they’re looking for pieces all around the roster. Is it Eugenio Suárez or bust for third base? Can they pull off a package deal to get him and a pitcher? Can they get a playoff-caliber arm for the rotation? If you have questions like this, or anything else on your mind, send ‘em in for a chance to be featured in our Yankees mailbag.
Answers will run on Friday afternoon. All questions received by the night of July 24th will be considered. You can leave your submissions in the comment section below or by e-mail to pinstripealleyblog [at] gmail [dot] com.
