Eugenio Suárez traded to Seattle
Arizona will also get RHP Hunter Cranton (the Mariners’ No. 16 prospect), and RHP Juan Burgos (No. 17).

Tyler Locklear adjusted a high, noisy hand load in early June. Since June 11, his avg EV has gone from 87.1 to 94.9 MPH, his HH% from 38.2% to 54%, barrel and LA have gone up. Previously hitting .265 w/a .316 SLG vs FBs, now hitting .394 w/a .784 SLG. A complete transformation. https://t.co/HzdjtJKclR

Tyler Locklear is the major piece of this Eugenio Suarez trade, and it's easy to see why. His double-plus raw power will be key for taking over 1B. Will he live up to the immense success the team has had at the position? Only time will tell!

Cal Raleigh has 41 HR this season. Eugenio Suárez has 36.

The Mariners would be the second team in MLB history to enter August with 2 players on their squad having 35+ HR (counting HR with any team).
The other was the 1961 Yankees with Roger Maris (40) & Mickey Mantle (39). pic.twitter.com/18rybdXqoc
Arizona Diamondbacks dealing Eugenio Suarez to Seattle Mariners
Nick Piecoro gives a little paragraph about each player aquired, I’d quote it but that would be like quoting half his article. Just click the link below.

Arizona Diamondbacks lose 5th straight, swept by Detroit Tigers as trade deadline looms
“It’s definitely not the spot that we wanted to be in when we showed up to Scottsdale in the spring,” starting pitcher Ryne Nelson said.

Red Sox Interested in 2 Diamondbacks Pitchers
“I wouldn’t harbor any type of hard feelings if I got traded. ... I still want be here. If I don’t get traded, I’m definitely not going to be mad about it. But if I do, yeah, there’s always a possibility that I would come back here,” Kelly told Sommers.

Who are D-backs GM Mike Hazen’s Most Frequent Trade Partners?
Surprisingly, it’s not the Mariners, although they’re close.

If you are interested, here is the teams’ most recent trades as a franchise. You can also toggle the “most recent with each franchise” dropdown to find whatever team you want’s history with the Dbacks. This has sent me down a rabbit hole more than once. The longest time between trades with another team was the Padres at the 2013 deadline. IPK was traded to SD for Joe Thatcher and Matt Stites.

Diamondbacks’ Offense is Still Better Than You Think
The Diamondbacks ended play on July 20 having scored the fourth-most runs in MLB, 5.15 per game, and the second highest OPS at .776. MLB Average OPS is .717 and runs per game average is 4.39. It can’t be stated more clearly, the D-backs offense was inarguably one of the top four offenses in MLB just nine days ago.
The seven-game slump has dropped the runs per game to 4.90, which still ranks fourth, albeit much closer now to the fifth-place Red Sox at 4.85. Their OPS has dropped to .763, but still ranks fourth in MLB.

Report: Astros Interested in Diamondbacks’ Young Outfielder
“The Astros, while dealing with lingering injuries to designated hitter Yordan Alvarez, All-Star shortstop Jeremy Pena and All-Star third baseman Isaac Paredes, also are in the market for a hitter,” Rosenthal and Rome wrote. The names under consideration include Minnesota Twins infielder Willi Castro, Miami Marlins outfielder Jesús Sánchez and Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Jake McCarthy, sources said.”

2025 Cubs a reflection of Ryno’s play, personality
“There’s a lot of Cub players who play like Ryno and they act like Ryno,” Dunston said earlier this week on MLB Network. “The Cub players play like Ryno. They come to the plate, they battle, and they’re out to beat you. And they’re quiet and then they go home and go about their business, and that’s that. That was Ryno.”
...........................................
“It means the world to me,” Happ said. “I thought his words were powerful and I thought it was amazing of him to go on and do that. And to mention me, as someone who embodies the way that Ryno went about his business, it’s about the highest compliment you can receive.”

How a scary plane ride inspired the Red Sox’s new celebration
“It was the worst sustained turbulence I’ve ever experienced,” said Red Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito. “It was 45 minutes straight of left, right, dropping down. I was saying, at least on a roller coaster, you know when the drop is coming, or you know when you’re rolling right or rolling left, you can see it. But sitting on a plane, it was like, ‘Oh boy.’ At one point, I kind of flew up out of my seat. I was like, ‘OK, it’s time to put the seatbelt on.”’

The continental plates move at the same rate that fingernails grow.
Research suggests that in some time in the far future, a supercontinent may form. The continents are continuously moving a few centimeters a year.
An episode of Peppa Pig was banned in Australia.
This was mainly due to the episode’s message that aimed to teach children not to fear spiders. For Australians, spiders found on the continent are much larger and deadlier compared to other parts of the world. This episode was banned in the country so that children would not harm themselves whenever a spider was around.
The Nigerian Civil war was placed on hold for two days to watch a soccer match.
This temporary ceasefire was done so that both sizes could watch Pele in an exhibition match. After the game, the two sides came back to their old habits and began the war again.
That makes me think of the Christmas Truce in WWI.
