No intro. Let’s go.
NEW COMMIT
Aptly named Bear Fretwell has flipped his commitment from Georgia Tech to Alabama. The 3-star offensive tackle measures 6’7 and 300 lbs and hails from from Brooklet, GA near Savannah.
June was a busy month for Fretwell. He first gave his pledge to the Yellow Jackets on June 15th, a few days after an official visit. After participating in an Alabama camp, he made a strong enough impression on the staff to earn an offer.
Some reports have said that he clocked in at 4.77 seconds in the
forty-yard dash at the MVP Camp (owned by On3 Sports’ Chad Simmons, and Rusty Mansell).
He is a developmental guy but has good size with potential to be molded into a prototypical SEC offensive lineman.

WHO IS NEXT?
Alabama is expected to only take one or two more commitments to this Class of 2026. The concentration will be in the trenches on both sides of the line. Much could change between now and December 3, but here are two names that are being bandied around at the moment:
- EDGE Anthony “Tank” Jones (6-3.5 / 240) 4/5-star from St. Paul’s Episcopal in Mobile, AL is down to Bama, Oregon, and Texas A&M. As a junior, he recorded 84 tackles, 18 TFL, and 16 sacks. His decision may come soon as Phil Knight was recently seen sprinting towards an ATM.
- DL Elijah Golden (6-4 / 275) is from King George, Virginia and played at IMG as a sophomore. He transferred to Sarasota (FL) Cardinal Mooney and racked up 61 tackles (29 TFLs), 10 sacks, 8 QBHs and a PBU in 11 games as a junior. He is announcing on Aug. 9 with Notre Dame as a recent favorite. Oklahoma and home state Virginia Tech are also in the running.
