
Barcelona have announced a sponsorship deal has been agreed with the government of the Democractic Republic of Congo.
The deal is for the team to wear ‘R.D. Congo - Coeur d’Afrique’ on the back of their training shirts and will last for four seasons.
Here’s the club’s statement:
“FC Barcelona and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have announced a strategic four-year partnership with the objective of promoting football and the culture of sport and peace.
“This agreement signifies
ADa shared commitment to fostering multi-sport development within the DRC and as part of it this collaboration the club will contribute to enriching the training of the country’s young athletes by transferring its ecosystem of values, an indisputable pillar of the Barça model and style.
“As part of this agreement between FC Barcelona and the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo, all of the Club’s professional teams will wear the emblem of “R.D. Congo - Coeur d’Afrique” on the back of their training shirts for the next four seasons, until 2028/29, and will become a Global Partner with the name ‘Official empowerment partner for sports and culture.”
The sponsorship deal is reportedly set to earn Barcelona around €44 million, giving the club yet another much-needed financial boost.
