Game Thread #102: Milwaukee Brewers (60-41) @ Seattle Mariners (54-47)

WHAT'S THE STORY?

After last night’s loss disrupted the Brewers’ winning streak, they’ll set out to prove it was just a speed bump.

Milwaukee sends out Quinn Priester for today’s game. He’s been a terrific, unexpected part of the team’s rotation, and he’s only getting better. His season ERA of 3.33 is already impressive, but over his last seven starts, he’s pitched to a 2.54 mark. His strikeouts have ticked up in that time, too, striking out 44 batters in 39 innings.

For Seattle, Luis Castillo makes his 21st start in

another impressive campaign. His 3.21 ERA is his lowest mark since 2022. That might be deceiving though, since he’s striking out batters at a career-low rate and giving up a career-worst 10.7%-barrel rate.

Brice Turang is back in the leadoff spot, featured as usual at second base. He’s joined by an unfamiliar arrangement in the infield as Anthony Seigler starts at third base and Tyler Black starts at first. Joey Ortiz is still his double play partner, and perhaps a more influential piece in the offense as Ortiz has hit .318 over his last 22 at-bats.

In the outfield, Isaac Collins, Blake Perkins, and Jackson Chourio set up left to right. William Contreras starts at catcher with Christian Yelich at designated hitter.

Here are the full lineups for today’s game. First pitch is set for 2:40 p.m., and it will be on FanDuel Sports Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network.
