MM 8.13: Two former Maryland men’s basketball players represent Angola in FIBA AfroBasket action

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Former Maryland men’s basketball players, Bruno Fernando and Selton Miguel, are representing Angola at the 2025 FIBA AfroBasket.

Angola’s run at the tournament commenced Monday against Libya, and Angola prevailed with a resounding 85-53 victory. While Miguel did not play, Fernando was a significant contributor. He notched seven points, eight rebounds and four blocks in his on-court action.

Angola is in Group C, also occupied by Libya, Guinea and South Sudan. It has 11 AfroBasket titles to date.
