As this post goes live, we sit just 36 hours away from the MLB Trade Deadline. The Yankees have already added Ryan McMahon and Amed Rosario but still seem likely to add more pitching help. Will we get news today? Or is it going down to the wire tomorrow? At least in the interim, the Yankees got a game and a half closer to Toronto, as the Jays were swept in a doubleheader in Baltimore while New York beat Tampa Bay. Take that W!
Today on the site, Peter will break down his Sequence of the Week, and
Madison will run through the Rivalry Roundup. John and Sam will give us two final Trade Deadline targets for the Yankees to consider: Padres starter Dylan Cease and Cardinals closer Ryan Helsley, who have both been connected to the Yanks in rumors. Later, Matt will look back at a win at the Metrodome in today’s 2000 Yankees Diary and Michael will examine how the Yankees’ shaky pitching is also affecting the defense’s reputation.
