Bayern Munich announced the much-anticipated signing of a contract extension with center-back Dayot Upamecano via a release on the club website:
Dayot Upamecano has signed a new contract at Bayern until
30 June 2030 as the club secures the long-term services of a pillar of the team. The 27-year-old France international has been at the Allianz Arena since the 2021/22 season, so far winning three Bundesliga titles and three domestic Supercups.
Upamecano was likely happy to just get the deal done after an exhaustive process, which featured many ups-and-downs. Now, though, all of that back-and-forth is over.
“I’m really happy to be staying at Bayern and continuing to play in this team. We’ve got a great team and a great coach. We’ve got big goals together. In life, it’s always about mentality. I give my all for my teammates, in every training session, want to keep a clean sheet in every game and want to win as many titles as possible with Bayern,” Upamecano said.
There is no word as of yet on any financial details. The signing bonus salary, annual salary, and release clause details have all been hot points of debate for fans.
