We’re a little more than a week away from the 2025 MLB Trade Deadline, and apparently, the New York Yankees are looking to plunder your Pittsburgh Pirates. According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post

, the Yanks are in regular contact with the Pirates and have been discussing a multitude of players, including Mitch Keller, Ke’Bryan Hayes, David Bednar, Dennis Santana and Isiah Kiner-Falefa.

Yankees GM Brian Cashman has been public about the Yankees in need of “a starter, some relievers, and an infielder,”

and the Pirates have all of the above in a one-stop shop.

Out of that list, Keller is probably the most valuable and the piece the Bucs would get the highest return for, with Keller holding a 3.48 ERA, a 1.16 WHIP and 97 strikeouts despite a 3-10 record from Pittsburgh’s notorious lack of run support.

Bednar and Santana are Pittsburgh’s two most effective relievers, with Bednar bouncing back from a slow start and a demotion to earn 15 saves to go along with a 2.31 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. Santana leads the Bucs bullpen with a 1.49 ERA and 0.80 WHIP as well as 5 saves as an elite set-up man.

Hayes has long been rumored to be on the market, and he’s a well-known commodity as a light-hitting defensive third baseman with Gold Glove possibility in the field, while Kiner-Falefa is batting .274 on the year to lead Pittsburgh in batting average.

The MLB Trade Deadline is stands at 6:00pm on July 31, so we have a little more than a week to see how this all plays out. Which of these players do you think the Yankees are after the most? Do you think it’s possible the Bucs trade several of them to New York? Tell us in the comments what you’re thinking.
