Mother Nature is clearly ready for the college football all season. The city of Lexington was blessed with some of the best weather you’ll ever see for Kentucky Football Fan Day.
Saturday, August 2nd, marked the start of fall camp, which permits teams to host on-field practice sessions. The Big Blue Nation received a first-hand look at what the 2025 squad will look like on the Joe Craft practice fields.
In a world where just about everything costs money, Kentucky offered free admission to those who
took advantage of the gorgeous weather and a chance to see their Cats in live action.
Fans were also treated to free 2025 UK football posters. You know it’s approaching football time in the Bluegrass when you walk past the table full of posters at your local Kroger.
There are undoubtedly uncertain vibes surrounding Kentucky Head Coach Mark Stoops after a tumultuous off-season that featured the departure of his right-hand man and flagship assistant coach, Vince Marrow. Stoops appeared on Kentucky Sports Radio with Matt Jones on Friday and addressed a variety of topics, including his optimism regarding UK’s chances to compete moving forward in the ever-evolving world of NIL.
“I think we’ll be in the best position we’ve been in a long time. These last two or three years have just been rough. I don’t even care to go back. You know, I don’t like making excuses. It was just rough. You know what I mean?” Stoops said.
It was reported by those in attendance that the crowd turnout was solid signaling that the BBN remains prepared to rally around this Wildcat football team. UK fans know all too well that quarterback play in the SEC can make or break you.
This afternoon, they had one of the first chances to see presumptive starter Zach Calzada toss it around. Stoops will seemingly have depth this season under center with an experienced veteran like Calzada alongside a budding young star in Cutter Boley.
All in all, Kentucky Football Day Fan Day 2025 was a success. Beautiful weather and live football action are hard to beat in early August.
