After a thrilling, exhilarating Home Run Derby finish that saw our very own Cal Raleigh become the first Mariner to take home the trophy since Ken Griffey Jr., the All-Star festivities continue with the actual game. We’ll be treated to another helping of Big Dumper on the national stage, with American League manager Aaron Boone slotting him into the cleanup spot in the starting lineup.

As is standard in the exhibition game, don’t expect any member of either starting lineup to get more than one or two
turns at bat, as the hope is for as many of the reserves to get in as possible. For the Mariners, look to see Bryan Woo cover an inning, and perhaps we might see Andrés Muñoz close out a win for the AL? Randy Arozarena could see some action in the later innings, as well, but with a crowded outfield and pitching corps, odds are someone will be riding the bench for the contest. A bummer, maybe, but the All-Star Game isn’t meant to be taken seriously. Let’s have some fun with it!
Game Info:
First pitch will be at 5:00pm Pacific time, but if you want to catch the tail end of the pregame, your host is Kevin Burkhardt, with Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz, and Frank Thomas serving as analysts. No cable? No problem! You’ll be able to tune in on FOX. If TV isn’t your jam, you can also stream on FoxSports.com or on FuboTV. Joe Davis and John Smoltz (sigh) will be on the call, with Ken Rosenthal and Tom Verducci serving as field reporters.
