80% of voters believe Michigan will win a National Championship before Ohio State. While this wide of a margin in Michigan’s
favor isn’t exactly a surpise seeing as it was conducted here on Maize n Brew, there’s plenty of valid rationale to back up that vote.
While the Buckeyes won the National Championship last season, Michigan won it the season before and now has loads of momentum on the recruiting trail for their 2026 class. Michigan landed 2025 No. 1 overall recruit, quarterback Bryce Underwood who has a J.J. McCarthy level ceiling (or higher), and the Wolverines have beaten Ohio State four times in a row.
As far as the 2025 season, it’s the Buckeyes who are perceived to have a stronger shot at winning a championship. Ohio State currently has the second-best odds on FanDuel Sportsbook of winning the National Championship next season at +600, while Michigan has the eleventh-best odds at +3700.
