Fall camp may be in full swing for the 2025 LSU football team, but the future of the roster added a big time talent at a premium position.
Four-star defensive tackle Deuce Geralds announced Saturday afternoon his commitment to LSU. Geralds picked the Tigers over a final three of Oregon, Ole Miss, Michigan, and Ohio State.
Geralds plays for Collins Hill in Suwanee, Georgia, but is originally from the Baton Rouge area. He has family in the area and while his father, Daverin, didn’t play at LSU, he was
recruited to Ole Miss out of Scottlandville by Ed Oregon and Frank Wilson. Now Deuce is heading back home to play for the Tigers.
“It’s my hometown. I have family there,” Geralds said to On3/Rivals Steve Wiltfong. “I just want to come back home and turn up Baton Rouge and the 225 and I want to be part of that. I’ve been wanting to be part of that since I was a little kid. To be part of it now is a blessing and dream come true.”
Listed at 6’1” and 270 pounds, Geralds was the highest ranked uncommitted defensive linemen in this 2026 recruiting class. Geralds is the No. 8 defensive tackle in the country and viewed as the No. 93 overall prospect.
In adding Geralds, LSU has maybe the best defensive line class in the country. Per the 247 composite rankings, LSU now has four defensive line commits that rank in the top-100 overall: Lamar Brown (No. 3), Trenton Henderson (No. 42), Richard Anderson (No. 49), and now Geralds (No. 93). That’s not including four-star defensive end DeAnthony Lafayette, and the newly committed three-star defensive tackle Darryus McKinley, the younger brother of current Tiger Dominick McKinley.
That’s what it’s supposed to look like at LSU. That’s how you win championships. Look at Kirby Smart’s Georgia teams that went back-to-back. Look at when Alabama was at its absolute peak under Nick Saban. What did they both have? Deep, dominant defensive lines. LSU’s building toward that.
