Well, that was fast.

on Sunday.

Marquez Callaway appeared to have started a feel-good story, doing well enough in a tryout to earn a spot with the San Francisco 49ers. His former Tennessee position mate, Jauan Jennings, is on the Niners.

But alas, that also ended on Sunday, just three days after he signed. Callaway was released to make room for the signing of veteran WR Robbie Chosen.

Callaway made waves early in his career with the New Orleans Saints, with his best year coming in 2021 - 45 catches for 698 yards and 6 touchdowns. However, he hasn’t recorded a stat since the 2022 season.
