Indeed, that coveted zero at the end of a record doesn't just represent perfection — it builds a fighter's mystique, boosts their marketability, and generates unparalleled hype among fans.

Some special fighters even live in imperfect denial ... often.

However, MMA is an unforgiving sport where chaos reigns, and perfection is difficult to maintain. Losses

One of the most hyped prospects in MMA, Austin Bashi, dropped a unanimous decision to Christian Rodriguez on UFC’s card of 2025, nuking his undefeated record.

Magomed Gadzhiyasulov lost a unanimous decision to Bruno Lopes in a pretty awful fight. He has since been released from UFC.

Only one fighter lost their undefeated record at UFC Saudi Arabia, but it was a big one: Shara "Bullet." Indeed, the popular one-eyed fighter lost a competitive unanimous decision to "MVP."

Top prospect and Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace, Kody Steele — who was a 3:1 favorite over Chinese fighter, Rongzhu — lost a unanimous decision on UFC 312’s "Prelims" undercard.

He got an extra $50,000 for “Fight of the Night,” though.
