Barcelona are reportedly now open to selling Hector Fort this summer as the Catalans look to trim the squad ahead of the new season.
Fort had looked set to stay, particularly after signing a new contract back in May, but the latest updates suggest he could be on the move.
According to Diario Sport, Barcelona are now willing to let him go as they see Eric Garcia as a good back-up to Jules Kounde at right-back.
The report adds that Barca “are confident in his potential, but but they also see a good opportunity
to make money.”
A sale is therefore being considered, not a loan, although there’s a chance Barca could still add a buyback or sell-on clause in any potential deal.
Fort only made five La Liga starts last season under Hansi Flick and wasn’t used in Sunday’s pre-season friendly against Vissel Kobe.
Joan Laporta has said he’s hoping to avoid any ‘painful sales’ of big stars this summer, but it seems Fort is a player who could well be sacrificed if offers arrive.
