Sometimes when you’re the new kid on the block, you have to make an impression.
That’s exactly the approach the Kennesaw State Owls are taking in 2025. Kennesaw State was the only program to make its FBS debut in 2024, and the Owls flew under the national radar with a 2-10 record — justifiably struggling with the difficult transition from the FCS to the FBS.
Now fully up to speed in the FBS, Kennesaw State already made its first splash in 2025 with a new set of uniforms. Modeled by quarterback Dexter
Williams II and defensive end Marcus Patterson — two of the team’s higher profile transfers — the Owls showcased their new look to the world Wednesday in a uniform reveal video.

The uniforms feature three different helmet lids — black, gold, and white — two different jerseys and two different pants — black and white. Screenshots of the combinations below are courtesy of Kennesaw State Athletics:

What changed from 2024? The most notable change is the new owl wings sleeve pattern, replacing the former shoulder numbers. Also, the black jerseys now have “OWLS” across the chest instead of “KENNESAW STATE”, while the white jerseys display “KENNESAW STATE” across the chest, albeit in a new, bolder font.
Although it could be a modeling choice, the screenshots suggest that names will remain absent from the back of the jerseys. There are a handful of FBS teams that go this route, notably Penn State and USC, among others, and Kennesaw State was in the no-name club in 2024.

The helmet shells are unchanged. Kennesaw State still has the black, white, and gold helmets at its disposal, and only the gold helmet features a striping pattern. However, a new slogan is transcribed on the helmet bumper. Last year, it said “E.A.T.” (Effort, Attitude, Toughness — a slogan under former head coach Brian Bohannon), and now it is “H.E.T.M.” — currently an undisclosed slogan the program is using under new head coach Jerry Mack.
Kennesaw State begins the Jerry Mack era on Friday, Aug. 29 at Wake Forest. It will be an exciting year two of FBS membership for the Owls, and they’ll rock this new look as they look to make a name for themselves in the CUSA.
