Jonah Kusi-Asare impresses Bayern Munich sporting director

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Recent reports indicate that Bayern Munich is going to entrust youngster Jonah Kusi-Asare with the back-up striker role behind Harry Kane. Sporting director Christoph Freund thinks that it would be a good step for Kusi-Asare if it breaks out that way.

“He’s been training with us for 10-12 months and has made good progress. His first time in a new environment, away from Sweden, wasn’t easy either. He just turned 18, and our plan is for him to stay here and fight for his minutes. It’s a different situation

The role as an apprentice to Kane would be a good learning opportunity for Kusi-Asare, but might not offer as much playing time as he needs. Time will tell if this is the proper developmental step.
