Bubba the Love Sponge, a radio host and former friend* of Hulk Hogan, first floated a rumor that Hogan was in failing health about a month ago. Eric Bischoff and others close to Hogan denied the Love Sponge report.
But Bubba has persisted, continually updating the story on his network. In response to a July 7 claim that Hogan’s team was hiding his actual condition, Hulk’s wife Sky posted the following to her Instagram Story:
“No, he’s definitely not in a coma! His heart is strong, and there was never
ADany lack of oxygen or brain damage… none of those rumors are true.
”He’s been recovering from a major four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF), which is an intense surgery with a long and layered healing process. If you look it up, you’ll see what the last six weeks have involved… not just for his spine, but also for his vocal cords, and the eating/breathing tubes that are clamped over during surgery. We’ve been in and out of the hospital to support that recovery.
“So truly, there’s no need for the drama or panic some people try to stir up. He’s healing, and we’re taking it one day at a time with love, strength, and patience.”
On Monday (July 21), the Love Sponge’s latest report mentioned that “Jimmy Hart reportedly told a close source Hogan can’t speak anymore due to trachea damage.”
Hart denied that on social media. The Mouth of the South also mentioned that he and Hogan’s son Nick went to karaoke Monday night (when its held each week at the Hogan’s Hangout restaurant in Clearwater, Florida), which led some to believe that Hulk was also there even though Hart doesn’t say that.

Real American Freestyle, an amateur-style wrestling promotion launched by Hogan, Eric Bischoff, and Izzy Martinez, holds is set to hold their first event next month. We should get clarity on the Hulk’s health by then.
* Why former? They eventually settled the one between the two of them, but all the lawsuits around the tape of Hogan having sex with Bubba’s wife probably have a lot to do with it.
