MM 8.5: Former Maryland football cornerback Jakorian Bennett traded to Philadelphia Eagles

Former Maryland football cornerback Jakorian Bennett, a 2023 fourth-round pick by the Las Vegas Raiders, was traded Monday to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for defensive tackle Thomas Booker IV.

Bennett broke out in 2024 for the Raiders, with eight pass deflections and just 23.3 yards per game allowed over 10 games before a torn labrum ended his season. Now

he joins the league’s defending champions, in an Eagles cornerback room that already includes rising stars Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean.

Bennett was a two-time All-Big Ten honorable mention during his three seasons in College Park, topping off his tenure with a victory-sealing interception in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, in which he was the game’s MVP.
