Completed: CJI 2 Full List Of Team Rosters, Competitors

After a successful inaugural event, the Craig Jones Invitational 2 (CJI 2) will happen over two days from Aug. 30-31, 2025, inside Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Craig Jones himself will be competing in his event once again, with the BJJ star being matched up against Olympic wrestling champ, Gable Stevenson. More “super” fights are expected to be on the line up, but the main highlight of the event is their team tournament that is said to be stacked with various BJJ stars and world champions.

As CJI 2 co-promotes with Quintet and moves to a team tournament format, eight teams will be competing for $1 million.

Teams will consist of five grapplers, one from each weight class. In case the team doesn’t have members from every division, they will also have the opportunity to get a “wild card” pick to fill up one of those slots.

More details and competitors are being confirmed for their highly anticipated sophomore event. First team announced was 10th Planet, with B-Team, New Wave, and three “misfits” teams from various regions eventually confirmed by Craig Jones. Atos and “Daisy Fresh” were the final two teams revealed, and will be fielding their five-man teams.

The “highest paying women’s tournament in BJJ history” was also revealed to be part of CJI 2.

Below is the current fight card and full list of competitors that have a slot booked for CJI 2. We will be constantly updating this post every time an athlete gets confirmed for the event.

Notes and Updates to CJI List

All the details and subsequent updates to this list will be noted on this section.

April 9: The team roster for New Wave has been revealed, led by two-time ADCC world champ Giancarlo Bodoni. Gordon Ryan and Nicholas Meregali are out, and their 77 kg representative will be from an “internal trials.”

May 2: Added the complete B-Team roster, which Craig Jones tried to censor but unintentionally leaked early. Former rivals Nicky Rod and Victor Hugo will be teaming up to form a (literally) massive powerhouse team.

May 4: Added Owen Jones and Mateusz Szczecinski for Team Europe, Deandre Corbe for Team Americas, along with the two coaches.

May 8: Polaris champ Mateusz Szczecinski is injured and out of Team Europe. Their second option in Tommy Langaker is injured as well, so they will instead do a trials event and four-man tournament to determine slots for 77 kg. They will also do trials for 88 kg and +99 kg.

May 10: CJI 2 Australasia Trials determined the final three members of their team. Fabricio Andrey was their wild card pick, while Declan Moody and Belal Etiabari earned slots from the tournament.

May 20: Added Charles Negromonte to Team Europe.

May 21: Team Atos is confirmed and they’ve announced reigning ADCC champ Felipe Pena as their wild card pick.

May 24: Team Europe is nearly complete after the CJI 2 EU Trials. There’s only one slot left on their team after that surprise entry from a viral Neanderthal.

June 4: The final team is “Daisy Fresh” or Pedigo Submission Fighting.

June 5: Craig Jones has announced the full roster for Daisy Fresh.

June 9: Helena Crevar is the first of four competitors booked for the “highest paying women’s division in BJJ history”.

June 17: ADCC double champ Adele Fornarino has joined the 4-woman tournament.

June 30: ADCC European Trials Winner Taylor Pearman is a surprise wild card pick for Team Americas. Curious that the European is in Team Americas, while an American in Paul Ardila is in Team Europe, both at 88 kg. There are also a bunch of bigger stars from US and Brazil, but so far only two people have been confirmed for the team.

July 7: Reigning ADCC champ Ana Carolina Viera has joined the women’s tournament, and wrestling champ Pat Downey has joined Team Americas.

July 10: CJI 1 finalist Levi Jones Leary has pulled out of CJI 2 due to injury. Replacing him on Team Australasia is 3-time ADCC Trials winner Kenta Iwamoto.

July 14: Gavin Corbe has been officially added as the 66 kg representative of Team Americas. This means his brother, Sapateiro champ Deandre Corbe, will move up to 77 kg, and Team Americas only has one member left to reveal.

July 16: Sarah Galvao has been added, completing the 4-woman, $100,000 tournament.

July 21: Elijah Dorsey has been added, completing Team Americas. Craig Jones initially noted that team can get from a pool of North and South America, which potentially includes several Brazilian world champions, but the line up is all athletes from the US plus a wild card pick from Europe.

July 24: Diego Pato, who is one of the best grapplers today, joins Team Atos as the team’s wild card pick. Felipe Pena was previously announced as a wild card, but they now say they’re considering him as a regular Atos members as he has hosted camp there in his last few matches.

July 25: Pound-for-pound star Mica Galvao was announced as New Wave’s wild card pick for 77 kg.

July 30: Atos line up is announced and both the Ruotolo twins are NOT competing at CJI 2. This also completes the CJI 2 fight card and final line up.

Aug 1: Perhaps as a response to the reaction about Felipe Pena and Diego Pato joining Atos, Craig Jones announced that all the teams can have two wild cards in case their members pull out due to injury.

The Craig Jones Invitational 2 (CJI 2) is set for Aug. 30-31, 2025, inside Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Broadcast details and start times have yet to be revealed, but the inaugural CJI event was streamed live for free on YouTube. We will update this section once more details become available.
