Brock Lesnar returns to WWE at SummerSlam

WHAT'S THE STORY?

Cody Rhodes defeated John Cena to win the WWE championship in the main event of SummerSlam tonight (Sun., Aug. 3, 2025) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The show did not end there, however.

Rhodes vacated the ring to give Cena the chance to soak in his final SummerSlam. Instead, he was greeted by the return of a man many never expected to see again.

Brock Lesnar.

lawsuit against Vince McMahon, and there were plenty of reports indicating he wouldn’t be returning to WWE for quite some time because of it. Then again, Triple H has long said he would be open to a conversation about Brock returning, and now he’s back.

It certainly looks like Lesnar will be one of the matches on Cena’s farewell tour, perhaps at the end of the month when WWE hits Paris.

So much for being on that TKO ban list, huh?
