An active-duty soldier stationed at Fort Bliss, Taylor Adam Lee, has been arrested in El Paso on charges of attempting to transmit national defense information to a foreign adversary and attempting to export controlled technical data without a license. Lee, who holds a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance, allegedly sought to establish his U.S. Army credentials and send defense information to Russia's Ministry of Defense. In June 2025, Lee reportedly transmitted export-controlled technical information on the M1A2 Abrams Tank online and offered assistance to the Russian Federation. During a July meeting, Lee allegedly passed an SD card containing sensitive documents to an individual he believed to be a Russian government representative. Lee was arrested and made his initial appearance in federal court.
