What's Happening?
The Haryana government, led by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is actively working to enhance the welfare and protection of cows through various initiatives aimed at making gaushalas self-reliant. During a recent ceremony at Shri Krishna Gaushala in Fatehabad district, the Chief Minister distributed fodder grant cheques totaling Rs 7.2 crore to 67 gaushalas. This is part of a larger effort, with a total grant of Rs 88.50 crore being allocated to 605 gaushalas across the state this year. The government is also providing machinery and solar power installations to support these facilities. Additionally, the Chief Minister announced Rs 21 lakh for the development of Badopal village and plans to name the local wildlife treatment center after Shri Rajendranand Maharaj. The state has seen a significant increase in registered gaushalas, from 215 in 2014 to 686 currently, caring for approximately four lakh stray cattle.
