Colleen Jon Schmitt, a resident of Sugar Grove, Illinois, passed away on July 28, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Schmitt spent most of her life in Aurora, Illinois, where she raised her three daughters. She worked for Dr. Yammine, an OBGYN, and Debbie Riddell, a midwife, forming lifelong friendships. Schmitt was known for her contagious laugh and deep compassion, making everyone feel welcomed and cared for. Her life was filled with activities such as playing Bunco, Bridge, and Pinnacle, and attending Presbury Yacht Club events. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Jerry, and spent winters in Destin, Florida. A mass and service will be held this fall at Saint Katherine’s Drexel Parish in Sugar Grove, Illinois, with interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
