Marimaca Copper (TSX:MARI) is advancing its exploration efforts at the Pampa Medina deposit in Chile. The company is conducting a 10,000-meter extensional drilling program with three rigs currently on site. This initiative aims to extend the high-grade sediment-hosted manto-system 300 meters to the west from previous drilling. Pampa Medina is situated 28 kilometers east of Marimaca's Oxide deposit in the Atacama Desert. The deposit is characterized by a stratiform or manto-style copper system, primarily hosted in Jurassic-Triassic sedimentary units such as sandstones, conglomerates, tuffs, and black shales. Copper mineralization was initially identified in near-surface oxide formations, dominated by atacamite, chrysocolla, and chalcocite. Recent findings have revealed high-grade zones of chalcopyrite and bornite, extending laterally beyond the oxide-primary transition. Marimaca has consolidated the project area and surrounding land packages, reinterpreting geological data to develop an updated model for future drill targeting.
