Micron, a semiconductor manufacturing company based in Boise, Idaho, has awarded Gilbane a preconstruction contract for its planned $100 billion semiconductor fabrication complex in Clay, New York. Gilbane, a Providence, Rhode Island-based builder, will lead the preconstruction and site enabling work across 680 acres of the campus. This marks the first phase of development at Micron's 1,400-acre White Pine Commerce Park site. The work involves producing and delivering aggregate to bring the site to rough grade, removing trees and brush, and replacing soil with processed aggregate. Additionally, stormwater basins and drainage will be built, and permanent perimeter fencing with security features will be installed. The project is contingent upon the completion of state and federal environmental review processes and other permitting requirements.
