Dustin Jarrard, a former operations manager for Tribe Transportation in Gainesville, has been indicted for wire fraud. Over a period from May 2018 to May 2024, Jarrard allegedly embezzled more than $500,000 by submitting fake reimbursement requests for drivers who were not employed by the company. He reportedly recruited actual drivers to participate in the scheme, submitting false payment requests for expenses and bonuses that were never earned. The drivers then transferred some of the illicit funds to Jarrard for his personal use. Jarrard was arraigned following his indictment by a federal grand jury on July 22.
