Department of Agriculture Supports 'Green Lane' Initiative to Boost Agricultural Investments

The Department of Agriculture (DA) has endorsed a joint memorandum circular (JMC) aimed at enhancing inter-agency coordination to streamline strategic investments in agriculture and fisheries. Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. signed the JMC, which integrates Executive Order 18 to establish 'Green Lanes for Strategic Investments.' This initiative seeks to expedite the processing of permits, licenses, and registrations necessary for major investment projects. The JMC involves collaboration among 38 national government offices, including the Departments of Trade and Industry, Finance, and the Interior and Local Government, as well as the Bureau of Customs. The DA will play a central role in facilitating investments related to agribusiness, agricultural mechanization, food security, and rural infrastructure.
