Sanmar has launched a new tugboat for Ultratug Mexico, which will operate at the Lazaro Cardenas Port on Mexico's Pacific coast. The tugboat, temporarily named Boğaçay LXXIX, is under construction at Sanmar's shipyard in Turkiye. It is based on the RAmparts 2400SX-MKII design by Canadian naval architects Robert Allan Ltd., tailored to meet the specific needs of the port. The vessel can accommodate up to eight crew members and is powered by two IMO Tier III compliant CAT 3516E main engines, designed to deliver a bollard pull of 75 tons and a speed of 12.5 knots. The tugboat is part of Sanmar's Boğaçay Series, known for its compact size and high-performance capabilities.
