Dhanusha Faces Wheat Crop Failure Due to Adverse Weather
In Dhanusha district, Madhesh Province, Nepal, wheat crops have suffered significant damage due to adverse weather conditions, including strong winds and hailstorms. Wheat, a crucial crop for the region, is cultivated across 34,000 hectares. Farmers have reported that despite timely irrigation and fertilizer application, the crops have failed to develop healthy grains. Pest infestations and unfavorable weather have further exacerbated the situation, leading to a potential drop in production. The Agriculture Knowledge Center has noted that yields have varied in previous years, but this year, production is expected to decline significantly. Authorities have yet to provide precise data on the extent of the damage, but initial observations suggest scattered instances of flattened wheat stalks.
