Arab Fashion Council Appoints Amina Taher as New Chairwoman to Elevate Regional Fashion
The Arab Fashion Council (AFC), which oversees fashion across the 22 nations of the Arab League, has appointed Amina Taher as its new chairwoman. Taher brings over two decades of leadership experience in various sectors, including aviation, fintech, media, and sports. Her previous roles include leadership positions at Etihad Airways and Wio Bank. The AFC, founded in 2015, is the world's largest non-profit fashion council and has been instrumental in establishing the fashion infrastructure in the Arab world. It aims to nurture and promote regional designers and position Arab fashion on the international stage. The council co-founded Dubai Fashion Week, which showcases regional and international fashion twice a year. Taher is recognized as a respected figure in brand, communications, and public affairs, and is expected to continue driving Arab design to the forefront of global fashion.
