Los Angeles Faces Infrastructure Challenges as Water Main Breaks Disrupt West Hollywood
A significant water main break on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood has led to extensive flooding, displacing residents and closing businesses. The rupture, which occurred on a 110-year-old pipe, has left a section of Sunset Boulevard closed as repairs continue. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is working to fix the damage, but no completion date has been set. The break has affected local water pressure, particularly in upper-floor apartments, as the area is now served by a smaller distribution pipe. Additional water pipe ruptures in Venice and Hollywood have been repaired, but the city remains on alert for further infrastructure issues.
