Bodies of Missing Chicago-Area Kayakers Recovered Near Washington Island
The bodies of two missing kayakers from the Chicago area were found in Lake Michigan near Washington Island, Wisconsin. David Thalman and Franceska Warick, both 20 years old, were reported missing after failing to return from a kayaking trip on Saturday. The Washington Island Police Department and the Door County Sheriff's Office conducted a search operation, which transitioned to a recovery mission after initial efforts. The U.S. Coast Guard was also involved in the search. The circumstances leading to their disappearance remain unclear.
